1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Votum ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Votum is a mobile application that allows you to:

• Document important life information and personal instructions
• Store messages for loved ones
• Designate executors who can access your legacy plan
• Send private encrypted messages to specific recipients

3. Account Requirements

To use Votum, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate information during registration
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in Votum. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the service.

You are responsible for:

• The accuracy of information you provide
• Ensuring you have the right to share any content you upload
• Not uploading illegal, harmful, or offensive content

5. Executor Access

When you designate an executor and grant them access:

• The executor can view your legacy plan (except private encrypted messages)
• You can revoke executor access at any time
• We are not responsible for how executors use the information they access

6. Private Messages

Private messages are encrypted using AES-256 encryption. Only you and the designated recipient can decrypt and view these messages. Executors cannot access the content of private messages.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload viruses or malicious code

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Suspend accounts that violate these terms

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Votum is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be error-free or uninterrupted
• The service will meet your specific requirements
• Any errors will be corrected

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Votum and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Votum operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
